Child abuse cases can sometimes be the most depressing and most emotional cases for Houston family attorneys.  This recent story of how a 22-year-old babysitter allegedly hurt a baby is particularly devastating.

The Houston Chronicle reports of how Mr. Jordan Thomas Harris got angry with an 11-month-old crying while watching the child, which caused the man to seriously injure the baby boy. The police reported that Mr. Harris "caused serious bodily injury" to the boy at a home on the 7900 block of Laura Koppe in northeast Houston. As a result of this incident, the baby was on life support as of last Friday. Child Protective Services said in the Houston Chronicle that the child's injuries include bruising to the brain, a black eye and bruising to both ears. The baby is being treated for the injuries at Texas Children's Hospital.

Mr. Harris is the boyfriend of the baby's 22-year-old sister. The sister and the mother of the baby were working at the time of the incident, according to the Houston Chronicle. The Houston police say that Mr. Harris has admitted to hurting the child.

Mr. Harris has been arrested and faces criminal charges for injuring the child. The victim's 4-year-old and 3-year-old siblings have been taken away from the house by Child Protective Services. The victim's 14-year-old and16-year-old siblings still remain living in the home.

While Mr. Harris may already be in a heap of legal trouble, the Houston Chronicle reports that the man could face even more charges if the child dies.
